Obituary

Dustin Landry, 86, of Medway died Monday, September 8, 2014 surrounded by his loving family at the Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston. He was the beloved husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Pfeiffer) Landry for 63 years.

Born in Medway on October 26, 1927, he was the son of the late Joseph and Eleanor (McGinnis) Landry.

Mr. Landry was a lifelong resident of Medway and graduated from Medway High School in 1945. He proudly served as a Seabee in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

Before his retirement, he worked as a lineman at Mass. Electric for many years and retired as a foreman.

He was a longtime member and past commander of the VFW Post 1526 in Medway.

Mr. Landry played semi-pro football for the Golden Tornadoes during the 1950’s. He enjoyed boating and spending time at his summer home on Cape Cod with his wife, children and grandchildren.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Margaret Curran of Centerville and Judith Ann Armstrong and her husband David of Medway, a son Timothy Dustin Landry and his wife Christine of Franklin and four grandchildren, Kevin Curran, Katie Armstrong and Emily and Joseph Landry.

He is also survived by a brother Lawrence Landry and a sister Joan Boyd, both of Medway and many nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his funeral from the Ginley Crowley Funeral Home, 3 Barber St. in Medway (www.ginleyfuneralhomes.com) on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. followed by a funeral Mass at St. Joseph Church, 151 Village St. in Medway at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in Mr. Landry’s memory to the Heart Fund at Boston Children’s Hospital, 401 Park Dr., Suite 602, Boston, MA 02215-3354.
