Krafian, Yervant “Eddy” of Watertown, MA (formerly of Waltham, MA) passed away on Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014. Beloved husband of Mary Krafian. Devoted father of Nora Hackett and her husband David and Ara Krafian and his wife Heather. Loving grandfather of David Ara, Mari, Araxi, Nairi, Ani, Anoush and Knar. Loving brother of Serpouhi Berberian and her husband Berge, Maro Manavian, Hovsep Kalfayan and the late Vahan Kalfayan. Loving brother-in-law of Sonia and Garbis Zerdelian. Born in Cairo, Egypt, he immigrated to Montreal, Canada in 1962, and settled in Waltham, MA in 1976. He will be remembered for his notable career as “Eddy”, the proprietor of Eddy’s Fine Men’s Shirts, where for 50 years he ran the business which he founded in Cairo and later opened on Saint Catherine Street in Montreal, Newbury Street in Boston and finally Washington Street in Newton. He was a founding member of Saint Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School and served as its board chairman. A devoted member of Saint Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church, where he served as a board of trustee member. Visiting hours will be held at the Aram Bedrosian Funeral Home, 558 Mount Auburn Street, Watertown on Wednesday, Sept. 10 from 5-8 p.m. Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend. Funeral service will be held at Saint Stephen’s Armenian Church, 38 Elton Avenue, Watertown on Thursday, September 11 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to Saint Stephen’s Armenian Elementary School, 47 Nichols Avenue, Watertown, MA 02472 or Saint Stephen’s Armenian Apostolic Church, Watertown. Interment at Highland Meadow Cemetery, Belmont.
