Obituary

William H. Kelly, 94, died peacefully at his home in Amherst, Massachusetts in the presence of his daughters on September 2, 2014. The son of the late Mary and John Kelly, he was born in Andover, Massachusetts on May 9, 1920, and was a longtime resident of the town. Mr. Kelly is survived by four children, Susan, Nancy, William, and Karen; five grandchildren, Robert, Marie, William, and Richard Kelly, and Bix Sandke; a great-granddaughter, Charlotte Kelly; a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Kelly; a son-in-law; Randall Sandke; a granddaughter-in-law, Sonia Kelly; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Constance M. Nelsen Kelly.

Mr. Kelly, a veteran of World War II, was in the 141st Infantry Regiment of the 36th Division. He fought at the invasion of Salerno, at San Pietro, and at the first Battle of Monte Cassino. A graduate of New York University, Mr. Kelly was employed as a financial executive.
His funeral will be held from the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, on Tuesday, September 9, 2014, at 9:30 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover, at 11 AM.
