Obituary

Bruno P. Retecki, 68, of Newport, North Carolina, formerly of Mendon and Medway, died suddenly September 4in the Carteret General Hospital in Morehead, North Carolina.
He was the husband of Joanne F. (Ghelli) Retecki.
Born in Ansbach, Germany, July 29, 1946, the son of the late Stanislaw and Tatiana (Kowaltzyk) Retecki, Mr. Retecki came to America as a small boy and was raised in Medway. He lived in Medway until moving to Mendon in 1993 where he lived until retiring to North Carolina in 2004.
Mr. Retecki had been a police officer for the Town of Medway for several years and later became a finish carpenter.
Mr. Retecki served in the Army during the Vietnam era being stationed in Germany.
He attained the rank of SP5.
Bruno enjoyed model trains and woodworking. Bruno was a man who could not sit still.
He was always making or fixing things for his family and friends and would do anything to help those who asked for his help.
Bruno’s first love was his family and being there for them.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Tanya Langdon of Newport, North Carolina, Christina Heisler and her husband Ronald of Mendon, Justin Ghelli of Franklin and Melinda Currul of Medway.
He is also survived by his sisters Teresa Casey of Medway, Mary Dennett of Cumberland, Rhode Island and Heleena Ryan of Richmond, Maine.
He was the brother of the late George Retecki.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Taylor, Jack, Daniel, Stefan, Sarah, Ava and Ayden.
His funeral mass will be held on Saturday, September 13 in St. Joseph Church, Medway at 10:00.
Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Medway.

In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made in his memory to the Medway Police Association, 315 Village Street, Medway, Ma 02053.
