Obituary

Ellen M. Airhart, age 67, a longtime Woburn resident passed away peacefully on September 4th, at the Lahey Clinic Medical Center in Burlington, following a lengthy illness. Born in Medford she was the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Ellen (Holland) DiFiore.

Ellen was raised and educated in Medford and was a graduate of Medford High School. She has been Woburn resident for the past 43 years and for many years Ellen worked as a cosmetician at the former Walgreen Store in Medford prior to her declining health. Mostly devoted to her family and raising her three sons, Ellen was also passionate about her gardening and landscaping of her yard with beautiful flowers and plants. Over the years she has been recognized by different groups for her talented work and design of her garden and landscaping.

Ellen is survived by her sons; Raymond Airhart and his wife Linda of Reading, Charles Airhart and his wife Kathleen of Woburn, David Airhart and his wife Lisa of Beverly. She was the loving grandmother of Derek James Airhart. Cherished sister of Gerald DiFiore of Stoneham, Elaine Anderson and Barbara Champion, both of Medford, Debra Smith of Everett, the late James DiFiore and Sandra Ward. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was conducted in the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN Sunday, September 7th, at 12 p.m. Relatives and friends were respectfully invited to attend and visit with the family prior to the service from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Services concluded with a fair well prayer service at Ellen's home garden at 1 p.m. It has been requested that in keeping with Ellen's love of flowers that you please plant a flower in her memory in a place that is special to you.
