Raymond A. Tague, Jr., 85, of Derry, NH, died Thursday, September 4, 2014 at Parkland Medical Center, Derry surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Central Falls, RI on February 9, 1929, a son of the late Raymond and Gabrielle (Desmarais) Tague, Sr. He was a resident of Derry for 42 years, formerly living in Lowell, MA. Raymond worked for the State of New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services as a District Director and later retired as Administrator of the Bureau of Children, Youth and Families after 20 years. He was affiliated with the Oblates of Mary Immaculate as an educator, Seminary Superior and Provincial Superior for 23 years. He was a communicant of St. Peter’s Church in Auburn. Raymond was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Joan (Brockway) Tague of Derry; one daughter, Melissa Greenfield and her husband Matthew of Medway, MA; one son, Matthew Tague and his wife Alicia of Newburyport, MA; four grandchildren, Madeleine and Miles Greenfield, and Mathijs and Evelyn Tague; one brother, Austin O. Tague of Lincoln, RI; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, September 8, 2014 from 5 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am in St. Peter's Church, 567 Manchester Rd., Auburn, NH followed by cremation.
