WAYLAND: Eugene M, Flynn, 87, died peacefully and comfortably surrounded by his family at his residence in Wayland on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 following a period of declining health.
He was born in Pittston, Pennsylvania on September 29, 1926 the son of the late Willard G. Flynn and Jule H. (Carey) Flynn.
Eugene is survived by his wife of 64 years, Grace L. (Moroz) Flynn of Wayland, Father of William L. Flynn and his wife Jennifer of Naperville, IL; Sharon F. Graves and her husband Don of Wakefield; Kathleen M. Goodhue of Wayland; Jay J. Flynn of Reading; Aline M. Verbunt of Ontario, Canada and Maryellen King and her husband Don of Marlborough. Also survived by 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Eugene has been a resident of Wayland for over 52 years and previously resided in Simsbury, CT. He spent his formative years in Pittston, PA and attended Sienna College. For many years, prior to his retirement, he was a salesman in consumer goods products. He served his country during World War II with the United States Navy.
At the request of his family, there will be no funeral home visitations. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at 10:00 am at the Good Shepherd Parish at St. Zepherin’s Church, 99 Main St (Rte 27) Wayland.
Private family interment will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, his family suggests that memorial gifts in his memory may be sent to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation, 383 Main St, 5th floor, Norwalk, CT 06851 and would be appreciated.
