HAYES, Jessie Howard “Willie”, 84, of Louisville, passed away peacefully in his sleep, Wednesday, September 03, 2014.
“Willie” was a Navy Veteran of World War II and Korea. He had worked as a supervisor and an agent for Eastern Airlines from which he retired after 32 years. He also retired from the maintenance department for the University of Louisville Shelby Campus. He was a member of 9th & O Baptist Church, Cloverleaf Baptist Church and Carlisle Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita D. Hayes.
“Willie” is survived by his daughters, Melanie Heitzman (Keith) and Tammie Weller (John); grandchildren, Jordan, Ryan, Chandler, Gram, Joshua and Justin; great grandchildren, Gage, Ethan and Abigayle; sister, Margie M. Moates(Paul); and by many loving nieces and nephews.
His funeral will be 11am Monday at Owen Funeral Home – Jeffersontown, 9318 Taylorsville Road, with burial in Resthaven Memorial Park. Visitation will be Sunday 1-8pm at the funeral home
