Obituary

Whitman – John J. “Jack” Darcy, Jr. 80, died at home on Friday August 29 surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of 58 years to Irene G. (Hambly) Darcy.

Born in Boston in 1934, he was the son of the late John J. and Marion (Coleman) Darcy Royster.

Jack had been educated in Milton and had proudly served in the US Army from 1952-1957, and was stationed in Augsburg, Germany for three years.

After his time in the service and prior to his retirement, he had worked many years as a Flexographic Printer.

He loved photography, coin collecting and camping, and for thirteen years he had been an assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troop # 22 in Whitman.

In addition to his wife Irene he is survived by his five children; Debra, Daniel, Denise, Doug and Donna, along with their spouses and significant others. He is also survived by his sisters Patricia Derosa and Janet Gallasch, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Monday September 1 from 4:00-7:30 PM, followed by a service at 7:30 in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel, Plymouth Street (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. A private burial will be held at a later date.
