Obituary

Charles Edward Turner, 77, of Butler passed away on Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at Pine Pointe Hospice in Macon. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 29, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. Clinton Moore officiating. Mr. Turner will be laid to rest at Union Grove Church of God Cemetery in Eldorado. The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 28, 2014, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at McLeighton Funeral Service in Roberta and on Friday, August 29, 2014, from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.

Mr. Turner was born on October 10, 1936. He was a truck driver for 57 years and retired from Manfredi Motor Transit, where he had earned several million mile awards. He served in the United States Army from 1961 to 1964 and was of the Baptist Faith.

Mr. Turner is survived by one son, Richard Edward Turner of Roberta; one daughter and son-in-law, Rhonda Turner Collins and husband, Danny of Butler; four brothers, Fred Albert Turner of Anniston, Alabama, James Turner of Heflin, Alabama, Rob Turner of Fitzgerald and Bobby Turner of Tifton; one grandson, Jeremy Childree of Butler; and his special caregiver, Laurie Campbell.
