George Basil Emmons
Nov. 9, 1933 to Aug. 25, 2014

George Basil Emmons, 80, of Anderson died August 25, 2014 at his residence after an eight month illness.

He was born November 9, 1933 in Huron, South Dakota to Cecil and Julia (Adams) Emmons.

He was a mechanical engineer at Delco Remy Division of General Motors Process Dept. 34 years before retiring in 1985.

He was a member of NRA and the Amateur Trap Shooting Association.

He loved spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary (Wade) Emmons of Anderson whom he married April 4, 1951 in Anderson; his eight children, Duane (Margaret) Emmons of Baytown, Texas; Daniel (Michele) Emmons of Hephzibah, Georgia; Dale Emmons of Fortville; Glen Emmons of Aliso Viejo, Calif.; Karen (Tony) Mullet of Lapel; Julie (Barry) Donovan of Daleville, Laura Emmons of Lapel, and Linda (Walt) Gillespie of Alexandria; 18 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; son, James Emmons; 2 brothers and 2 sisters.

The funeral service will be on Saturday, August 30, 2014 at 12:00 noon at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Ned Clark officiating.

Visitation will take place on Saturday from 10:00am-12:00pm at the funeral home.

Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service handled the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be given to Lapel Optimist Club.
