Obituary

WORCESTER-Thomas P. O’Connor, 29, of 11 Winifred Avenue, died Tuesday, November 23rd in UMass Memorial Hospital-University Campus after a 2 year battle with leukemia. He leaves his parents Thomas F. and Barbara J. (Forand) O’Connor of Worcester, a brother, Daniel P. O’Connor of Worcester, 2 sisters, Cathleen P. O’Connor and Margaret E. wife of Edwin C. Smith both of Barre, 3 uncles, Robert “Terry”, Timothy and Gary O’Connor all of Worcester, 3 aunts, Patricia O’Connor of Oakham and Darlene O’Connor of N. Brookfield and Nancy Desrosiers of Worcester and cousins. His paternal grandparents, Frank J. and Eleanor M. (LeBlanc) O’Connor and maternal grandparents, Henry L. and Mildred M. (Sullivan) Forand predeceased him.

He was born in Milford and graduated from Holy Name High School in 1994, where he was active in cross country and chorus. He graduated from Quinsigamond Community College with an associate degree in 2002. Previously he worked for Media Play and the former Fortin’s Market. He was a member of St. Joan of Arc Church and served as an alter boy and Eucharistic minister and was a former member of Troop 9, Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid Red Sox and sports fan and an enthusiastic collector of sports memorabilia. He enjoyed his dog Cody, listening to music and singing karaoke.


The funeral is Saturday, November 27th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will be in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Friday, November 26th from 5:00 until 9:00 PM in the funeral home.
