Julio (Giulio) Daniel Aramini, of Manchester, died on August 22, 2014.
He was born in Hartford, Connecticut on September 20, 1932 son of the late Daniel and Rosa (Giuliano) Aramini. He was raised in Avon, Connecticut, attended Towpath Elementary School in Avon and went to Canton High School in Collinsville, Connecticut where he was a three sports athlete standout. After graduating from high school, he played baseball one year in the old Boston Brave Farm system in Waycross, Georgia and the following year was drafted into the Korean War and he served his country from 1953 to 1955. Operated the family owned restaurant, the Jul-Ray from 1951 to 1957.
Julio married Marilyn Elizabeth Joyce on April 27, 1957 and was married to his beloved wife for 57 years. He had five wonderful children, Lynn Aramini of Dunbarton, Sherry Prestipino of Manchester and Mark Prestipino of Bedford, Gary Aramini of High Point, NC, Wayne Aramini and wife Sherry of Wallace, NC, and Timothy Aramini and wife Kerri of Manchester; five wonderful grandchildren, Angela Wolinski and husband Robert of Webster, Alana Dolloff of Newmarket, Anthony Dolloff and wife Melissa of Derry, Nicholas Prestipino of Milford, and Michael Prestipino of Bedford; and their respective families plus 6 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his beloved brother Raymond Aramini in 2005 and sister-in-law Nancy Aramini in 2013. He is survived by his sister Ines Hazen of Riverton, CT; four wonderful cousins, John & Carmen Bonetti, and Rick & Gloria Mullaney all from Bristol, CT; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Julio went to work for Southern New England Telephone Company in 1957, in Hartford, CT as a Lineman, attended Willimantic State Teachers College at night for ten years. He became and Engineer and in 1972, transferred to New England Telephone Company in Manchester, NH and resided with his family in Chester, NH. Julio worked through out the New England and Boston area, in various management capacities for many years until his early retirement in June of 1990, with 32 years of service. Upon his retirement, he and his wife relocated to Knox, Maine and became a business partner in Real Estate for 15 years; and later relocated back to Manchester, NH in 2006 to be closer to family. He attended St. Catherine’s Catholic Church and loved his parish.
Julio loved his family deeply, was proud of his Italian heritage and loved his country the USA. He was a story teller and a prankster as well as an avid sports fan, especially of the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. His Catholic faith was very important to him and he was ever so grateful for his many friends from all walks of life. He was a handy man who could fix almost everything, but more so a hard worker who set very high standards for himself and his family. Julio was a devoted family man, a good provider and a kind and loving father. He had respect for all people and modeled an exceptional example; to each one of his children, demonstrating tremendous love and compassion, encouraging each one of his children to carry out his legacy of love in each of their own lives. Julio will be remembered as a rare combination of strength, fortitude, humor, courage, integrity, love and faith.
In the end, Julio left this world a better place for who he was and how he lived. He will be forever missed, loved and revered.
A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at St. Joseph Cathedral.
