Obituary



Patricia A. (Harrison) LaFountain, 75, of East Freetown died August 21, 2014 surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was the wife of the late Albert R. LaFountain.
Born in New Bedford, the daughter of the late William J. and Mary (Jerome) Harrison and the step-daughter of the late Helena E. (Cooper) Harrison, she lived in East Freetown most of her life.
She was formerly employed as an activities director at Acushnet Nursing Home for many years until her retirement.
Mrs. LaFountain enjoyed reading, shopping, gardening, watching game shows and arts and crafts. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and caretaker.
Survivors include her 3 sons, William LaFountain and his wife Irene of New Bedford and Roger LaFountain and his wife Mary and David LaFountain and his wife Cheryl, all of East Freetown; 2 daughters, Kimberly Cravinho and her husband Michael of East Freetown and Helene Fortin of Fairhaven; a son-in-law, Donald Thomas, Jr. of East Freetown; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the mother of the late Diana Thomas and Kenneth LaFountain and mother-in-law of the late Steven Fortin.
Funeral from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford Tuesday, August 26th at 8:45 AM. Funeral Mass at St. John Neumann Church at 10 AM. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours will be on Monday, August 25th from 4-8 PM.
