James I. Rothenburg, 69, of Cherry Valley formerly of Webster, passed away, Friday, August 22, 2014 at UMass/Memorial Hospital, University Campus in Worcester.
He leaves his wife of 13 years, Christine M. (DeMaio) Rothenburg, a son Thomas J. Geer and his wife Maeve of Delmar,N.Y., a daughter, Tiffany A. Lamothe and her husband Andrew of North Brookfield, 2 grand-daughters, Bella Lamothe and Quinn Geer, a sister, Geraldine J. wife of Paul R. Siegmund of Dudley, a niece, Karen Siegmund a nephew, Paul D. Siegmund , a grand niece, Amie Siegmund and an aunt, Barbara Steege.
Jim was born in Webster the son of the late Irwin and Esther (Wayland) Rothenburg and lived many years in Webster before meeting his wife Chris 18 years ago.
He worked for over 30 years at A+M Tool and Die in Southbridge and the last several years worked at the Worcester Art Museum, where he retired.
He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Oxford, enjoyed fishing, and especially enjoyed being with his grand-daughter Bella and spending time with her.
Jim’s family would like to” Thank “ the Doctors and Nurses at University of MA. Hospital for their caring, especially Dr. Jan Cerny and his staff.
A Calling Period for Jim will be Tuesday, August 26, 2014 from 9AM to 10:30 AM at THE ROBERT J. MILLER-OXFORD FUNERAL HOME, 247 Main St.(Route 12) , a procession will then leave the Funeral Home for a Service at 11AM in Zion Lutheran Church,70 Main St., Oxford.
In Lieu of Flowers, Memorial Contributions may be made to: Leukemia and Lymphoma society, 9 Erie Drive,Suite #101, Natick, MA. 01760.
