Obituary

TAUNTON – James R. Lakin, Jr., husband of Isabel P. (Macedo) Lakin, died at his Taunton home on Aug. 19, 2014.
He was 87.
Born in Taunton, he was the son of the late James R. and Jesse (Maxim) Lakin, Sr.
Mr. Lakin grew up in Taunton and graduated from Taunton High School in 1944, later serving in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
Employed by Reed & Barton as a silversmith worker for over forty-two years, he retired in 1988.
He was a member of the VFW Post 611.
A sports fan, Mr. Lakin also enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, feeding birds, reading westerns, and traveling with his wife; especially to Maine, NH and Cape Cod.
He was also fond of spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his wife of Taunton, he leaves two sons, Paul Lakin and his wife Nancy of Hawaii, and Brian Lakin of Melbourne, FL; a brother, Donald Lakin of Plymouth; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Committal Services will take place at the Massachusetts National VA Cemetery in Bourne Wednesday, Aug 27th at 2 p.m.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
