Obituary

Walter J. Hull, Jr. age 89 of Avon, died peacefully on Saturday August 16, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family and friends. He was the devoted husband for 70 years of Rita P. (Morgan) Hull. Walter was born in Boston and raised in Roxbury, a son of the late Julia T. (Hurley) and Walter J. Hull, Sr. and was a graduate of the Boston Mechanic Arts High School. He had been a resident of Avon for over 50 years.
During WW II Walter served in the US Navy and participated in the Normandy Invasion. Following the war he enlisted in the US Army and retired in 1955 after 14 years of military service. Walter retired from Cardinal Cushing Hospital after working as a machinist engineer for 30 years.
Walter was a craftsman who possessed many talents and enjoyed being a poet, tailor, historian and storyteller. His true joy was his family especially spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and his beloved Yorkie, Molly.
In addition to his wife Rita, Walter is survived by his three daughters Kathleen T. Dulong, Karen R. Hull and Nancy M. Colarusso and her husband Carl, Jr. He also leaves nine grandchildren, many great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
