Evans, GA – John T. Duncan, 80, loving husband of 41 years to Carolyn Scott Duncan, entered into rest on Saturday, August 16, 2014.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 22, 2014 at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Joe Woods officiating. Burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
John was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He served in the National Guard in his 20’s and retired from the Kroger Co. after 37 years of service. He enjoyed spending time with his family. John was a loving husband, father, and grandfather.
In addition to his wife, survivors include one son; John Travis Duncan (Candace) of Evans, GA, two daughters; Karen Duncan Herd (Ernest) of Hephzibah, GA, Sandra Duncan Moses (Kyle) of West Point, NY, one brother; Joseph M. Duncan of Augusta, GA, two grandchildren; Emerson Maddox Duncan, Samuel Duncan Moses, and numerous nieces and nephews. John was preceded in death by three brothers; Radford Owens, Robert Milton Duncan, Sylvester Alewine, four sisters; Doris Miller, Elsie Fuller, Irene Wilson, Susie Guthrie and one grandson, Duncan Thomas Moses.
Pallbearers will be John Travis Duncan, Kyle V. Moses, Eddie Raley, Jeffrey S. Cunningham, Beau Ivey, and Steve Kilpatrick.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the funeral home.
