PAWCATUCK: Ruth Alice Douville of Pawcatuck died Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at her home. She was born on September 15, 1917 in Northbridge MA the daughter of George and Alice (Leblanc) Lemoine. She graduated from Northridge High School and attended business college in Woonsocket, RI.
Ruth married Woodrow W. “Woody” Douville Sr. on May 13, 1944. He predeceased her in 1996.
She worked for many years in Westerly, RI for Dr. Seymour Gersten as an Opticians Technician. She was a communicant of St. Michael’s Church, a member of the Westerly Garden Club, the Red Hat Society, and she volunteered weekly at the Pawcatuck Neighborhood Center.
Ruth is survived by her son Woodrow W. Douville, Jr. and his wife Diane Douville of Pawcatuck, her daughter Judith A. Taylor and her husband Rev. Robert Taylor of Essex CT, three grandchildren Jeremy Taylor, Sarah Taylor and Aimee Douville and one great grandchild Miriam Taylor. She is also survived by her siblings, Dorothy Mills and Richard Lemoine both of Massachusetts. In addition to her husband, she is predeceased by her brother George Lemoine.
Family and friends are asked to gather for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am on Saturday in St. Mary’s Church, 95 Main Street, Stonington followed by interment in St. Michael Cemetery in Pawcatuck. There is no funeral procession from the funeral home. Visiting hours are private.
