TEWKSBURY - Rita B. (Tremblay) Quinn, 79, a lifelong resident of Tewksbury, died peacefullyTuesday evening, March 26, at the Chelmsford home of her niece, after a brave battle withcancer. She was the wife of the late William J. Quinn, who died in 1962.
She was born in Tewksbury, Jan. 20, 1923 a daughter of the late Arthur and Alma (Harrison)Tremblay.
She was a communicant of St. William’s Church. She graduated from Tewksbury Public Schoolsand attended Lowell Community College.In her earlier years, she worked in the family businesses, Tremblay’s Market and Tremblay’sPackage Store in Tewksbury center. Later, she worked for I.T.E.K. and Wang’s computerdepartments. From 1973 until 1994, she worked at Purity’s computer department in Billerica as adata tape librarian.
She enjoyed traveling and Bingo. She was active at the Tewksbury Senior Drop-In Center, whereshe enjoyed whist, bridge and cribbage.She always loved the water, and spent many of her early years at Plum Island and later years atAlton Bay on Lake Winnipesaukee.
She is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and his wife Theresa (Dupre)Tremblay ofTewksbury, a sister and brother-in-law, Marguerite and her husband Jim King of Tamworth, NH,a sister-in-law, Beverly (Colby) Tremblay of Nashua, NH, twelve nieces and nephews, DeniseLamoureux of Assonet, MA, Celeste Campbell of Chelmsford, Michele Marino of Tewksbury,Anne Moriarty of Tyngsboro, Celine Coon of Starksboro, VT, Jamie King of Lebanon, NH,Michael King of Geoffstown, NH, Madeleine Keville of Charlestown, MA, Frank Keville ofEppingham, NH, John Keville of Plum Island, MA, Cynthia Tremblay of Nashua, NH, NancyCluff of Townsend, MA, many grand nieces, grand nephews, cousins, friends and her lifelong dearfriend Bea Peverill of Billerica.
She was also sister of the late Martha Keville and Paul Tremblay.
Her Funeral Service was held Saturday, March 30, in St. William’s Church. Interment was in Tewksbury Cemetery. Donations to Saints Memorial Medical Center, Hospital Dr., Lowell, MA 01852 or theMerrimack Valley Hospice, 360 Merrimack Street, Bldg. 9, Lawrence, MA 01843 will beappreciated.
