SANBORNTON – Rachel L. Johnson, 96, of 264 Lower Bay Road, died Friday, August 15, 2014 in her home after a period of declining health.
She was born on October 18, 1917 in Sanbornton, the daughter of Albert H. and Ruby P. (Gilman) Leighton. Rachel loved her flowers and gardening and did so as long as she could. She also took great pride in her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her two sons; Charles “Buddy” Johnson Jr. and his wife Donna and Albert E. Johnson and his wife Marie, two daughters; Winona Gilbert and Patricia Olisky and her husband Richard, five grandchildren; Elizabeth Marceau, Kaylee Johnson, Jason Olisky, Jamie Pelletier and Jeffrey Olisky, three great grandchildren, a niece and a nephew. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, C. Warren Johnson Sr., a daughter, Joanne S. Johnson in 2001 and a brother, Earl L. Leighton in 1998.
Calling hours will be held from 6PM to 8PM on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at the Wilkinson-Beane-Simoneau-Paquette Funeral Home, 164 Pleasant Street, Laconia, using the Whipple Ave entrance.
Funeral services will be held at 1PM on Wednesday, August 20, 2014 also at the funeral home. Burial will be held in the family plot in the Johnson Cemetery in Sanbornton.
