Obituary

CHICOPEE – Lenora M. “Nonie” (Blouin) Robillard, 88, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, August 16, 2014. She passed into Eternal Life at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield surrounded by the care and comfort of her loving family. She was born in Greenfield, Massachusetts on May 25, 1926, a beloved daughter of the late Edward and Cora (Millette) Blouin. She was raised and lived on Davis Street in the East Springfield section of Springfield and graduated from the High School of Commerce. She later lived in Holyoke before moving to the Fairview section of Chicopee in 1953. Lenora was employed for 17 years as a secretary clerk for the Chicopee Parks and Recreation Department. Active in her Catholic faith, she was a faithful communicant of Saint Anthony of Padua Church in Willimansett. Lenora was a 30 year square dancer with her late husband, Curly, and was a member of the Wolfrockers Square Dance Club of Mason, New Hampshire. During her leisure time, she enjoyed meeting her many friends at the South Hadley Senior Center. She was a tenacious cribbage player and was always ready for a good game with her family and many friends. She enjoyed surfing the net, skyping with her friends and was always ready for a delicious dish of ice cream. Most of all, she was a wonderful homemaker to her family and showered them with her love and affection which was returned to her a thousand fold. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Herve E. “Curly” Robillard who was Called Home on February 13, 2008. They were married on May 31, 1947 at the former Our Lady of Hope Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 60 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving children, Corinne M. Renauld and her husband, Edward, of West Townsend, MA, Robert E. Robillard and his wife, Paulette, of Ludlow, MA, and Wayne F. Robillard and his wife, Karen, of Harwich, MA; her eight cherished grandchildren, Michelle Delpha and her husband, Sam, Edward J. Renauld, Jr. and his wife, Aimee Burnham-Renauld, Angela Kirsch and her husband, Robert, James Renauld, Lindsay Robillard, Meghan Robillard and her partner, Josh Brodeur, Ryan Robillard, and Zoe Robillard; her seven cherished great-grandchildren, Dylan Heilner, Grace and Oliver Renauld, Anna, William and James Kirsch, and Cameron Brodeur; her dear sister, Sylvia Glynn of Hampton, VA; her dear brother-in-law, Carl Garrett of Byron, CA; her dear brother-in-law and sisters-in-law of the Robillard family, Rene Barthelette and his wife, Lucille, of South Hadley, Ivy Robillard of Westfield, and Marge Robillard of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins and extended members of the Robillard and Blouin families. Besides her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her dear sister, Mabel “Anne” Garrett. Her funeral will be held on Wednesday morning, August 20, 2014 beginning at the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020, (funeral home will open at 8:30 a.m.), followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 56 Saint Anthony Street, Chicopee, MA 01013. Her burial will follow the Mass at Notre Dame Cemetery, 63 Lyman Street, South Hadley, MA 01075. Her family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The parking lot is located in the rear of the funeral home. Her family has requested that memorial donations be made in her memory to the South Hadley Council on Aging, 45 Dayton Street, South Hadley, MA 01075, or to Saint Anthony of Padua Church, 56 Saint Anthony Street, Chicopee, MA 01013.
