Obituary

Worcester – Gerard J. Arsenault, 89, of Worcester, who was a dear husband and loving father died on Wednesday, August 13th in the Ichabod Washburn House after an illness.

Mr. Arsenault has been married for the past 68 years to his loving wife, Idamay (Michaud) Arsenault. He is also survived by three sons, Richard Arsenault of Leicester, Michael Arsenault of Sutton and David Arsenault of Sutton; two daughters, Julia M. Barclay of Worcester and Denise L. Hobby of Leicester; one brother, Ernest Arsenault of Oxford; two sisters, Theresa Gosselin of Auburn and Rita Herzog of Venice, FL; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.

Gerry was born in Rumford, Maine, son of the late Hector and Elia (Leblanc) Arsenault and is also predeceased by three brothers, Ivan Arsenault, Eugene Arsenault and Alfred Arsenault as well as two sisters, Imelda Coyle and Loretta Leger.

Mr. Arsenault is a World War II Veteran and served in the United States Army. He was the owner and operator of the family business, Arsenault Plastering in Worcester for 51 years until his retirement.

Gerry was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and the Disabled American Veterans.

The funeral will be held on Saturday, August 16th from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond Street with a Funeral Mass at 10 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church 1222 Main Street. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday August 15th from 5 to 8 PM in the funeral home.
