Obituary

Sullivan L. Hassan, 84, formerly of Hooksett, died August 14, 2014 after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester on January 30, 1930, the son of Hussein and Eva (Simard) Hassan. He was educated locally and enlisted in the US Air Force after high school.
Sullivan served 20 years in the US Air Force and earned the rank of technical sergeant prior to his honorable discharge in 1968. He had most recently worked as the bookstore manager at the NH Technical College in Manchester.
He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Hooksettites, and a communicant of Holy Rosary Parish in Hooksett for many years.
Sully has gone home now to be with his Lord and enter into the arms of God.
Family members include his wife of 42 years Bevely-Rae (Hewitt) Hassan of Bedford; her son, Ray Hewitt of Manchester; two sisters, Alice Lapointe of Florida and Elizabeth “Betty” Bobo of Ohio; two half-sisters, Ella and Diane Currier, both of Manchester.
He was predeceased by his stepmother Mary Hassan and sister Dorothy Cohn.
A committal service with military honors accorded by the US Air Force was held on Monday, August 18, 2014 at the NH State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
