Brockton - Carlton L. Ripley, 87, formerly of Whitman and Florida, passed away in the West Acres Nursing Facility of Brockton on Monday August 11 after a period of falling health.
He was born and brought up in Whitman, son of the late Leroy and Dorothy (Carlten) Ripley. Carlton was a graduate of Whitman High School, Class of 1944.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having serving his country from 1944-1952.
After returning from the service in 1952, Carlton attended Northeastern University where he earned his Bachelor’s Degree.
He had been employed by United Airlines for several years and prior to his retirement and move to Florida in 1985, he had worked for over 30 years as a Production Controller for McGraw - Hill Publishers of New York.
He is survived by his cousin Judith (Ripley) Braley and her husband Richard of Whitman, their children; Steven and his late wife Kandice Braley of Norwell, Scott and Mary Jane Braley of East Bridgewater, Suzanne Jenkins and husband Edward of Virginia and Stuart and Theresa Braley of Abington, and his cousin David Ripley of Virginia as well as many friends. He was predeceased by his cousin Ernest Ripley, Jr., his best friend and companion Arthurs Wells and his special friend Anna Barakauskas
Graveside services will be held on Saturday August 30th at 11:30AM in the High Street Cemetery, Whitman, MA.
