Manchester– Doris J. Harrington, 97, died August 9, 2014 at the Mt. Carmel Health Care Center following a brief illness.
She was born in Manchester on July 9, 1917 the daughter of Odore and Regina (Corriveau) Labore and had been a lifelong resident of this city.
Prior to her retirement she had been employed by J.J. Moreau’s as a buyer for 30 years. She had been a volunteer at the Catholic Medical Center for over 10 years.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis P. Harrington in 1977 and a son Richard Harrington in 1970.
She enjoyed traveling. She had a positive attitude and kindness about her. She had a great sense of humor and a welcoming spirit. Her door was always open. Her family was her life.
Members of her family include 2 sons, Paul Harrington and his wife Deborah of Manchester, Robert Harrington and his wife Judy of Manchester, a daughter-in-law, Shirley Pedrick,9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
She was also predeceased by 3 siblings, Walter and Gerald Labore and Florette Doepker.
There are no calling hours.
A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Saturday at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Church, 223 So. Main St..
Committal prayers will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum.
