GLOUCESTER: Sandra D. (Silva) Fletcher, 74, died Monday, August 11, 2014 in the Golden Living Center following an extended illness. She was the wife of the late John G. Fletcher who died in 1994.
Born in Gloucester on February 12, 1940, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Elizabeth (Claire) Silva. A lifelong resident of Gloucester, Sandra was employed at Rule Industries, Star Fisheries and Gorton’s of Gloucester for many years. She was an avid bingo player and loved camping with her family. She especially loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Kim E. (Fletcher) Jacobs and her husband, Michael; two sons, George L. Fletcher and his wife, Mary Ann (Muise) and John “Jeff” Fletcher; six grandchildren, John “Rob” Fletcher, Mark Fletcher and Nicholas Fletcher, Michael Jacobs, Jr., Matthew Jacobs and Nechole Jacobs; nine great-grandchildren, Samantha Fletcher, Keyania Fletcher, Kaylynne DeCoste, Hannah Fletcher, Elizabeth Fletcher, Emily Fletcher, Zachary Fletcher, Jaxon Jacobs and Matthew Jacobs, Jr. and many nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her son, William D. “Billy” Fletcher, Sr., grandson, William “Billy” Fletcher, Jr. and her sister, Geraldine “Gerry” Silva.
Her funeral service will be held on Monday in the Beechbrook Cemetery, Essex Ave., W. Gloucester at 10 a.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. There are no visiting hours.
