William E. Amero, 82, passed away at his home on Monday morning, August 11, 2014. He was born in Berlin on October 18, 1931, a son of William and Josephine (Robidas) Amero and was a lifelong resident. William served with the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked as an Oiler for Brown Co. and James River Corp and was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish and White Mountain Post 2520 V.F.W. For over 50 years he and his family enjoyed camping at Nay Pond. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and was known for his great sense of humor, always joking and making people smile.
He is survived by his wife Lorraine P. (Lemieux) Amero of Berlin, three children, Nancy Bouchard and her husband Dennis of Raymond, NH, Michael Amero and his wife Diane of Franklin, NH and Sandra Villeneuve and her husband Timothy of Berlin, 9 grandchildren Matthew, Mark, Timmy, Katie, Whitney, David, Brandon, Cody and Melanie; 4 great grandchildren Aubrey, Charlotte, Dominic and Jace; a brother Raymond Amero of Berlin, a sister, Dorothy Jensen of Berlin, nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters Pauline Washburn and Shirley Aikens and two brothers Richard Amero and Donald Amero.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday August 16, 2014 at 1 PM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. There will be no calling hours. Those attending the service are asked to meet directly at the church for the mass. Donations in his memory may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements are by the Bryant Funeral Homes, Berlin and Gorham.
