TAUNTON – Norbina A. Frias, longtime Taunton resident, died at the Taunton Nursing Home on Aug. 10, 2014 with her family by her side.
She was 90 years old.
Born in St. Michael, Azores, the daughter of the late Jose and Conceicao (Cordeiro) Pacheco Amaral, Mrs. Frias moved to the U.S. in 1966.
She worked for Texas Instruments and Swank Inc. for many years before retiring in 1985.
In her spare time, Mrs. Frias enjoyed spending time at home with her family.
Survivors include her son, Joseph A. Frias and his wife Ann of Taunton; a sister, Fernanda Bolieiro of Attleboro; son-in-law, Peter Arieta; four grandchildren, Matthew and Christina Frias, Marie Barber and Lindsay Arieta; a great granddaughter, Grace Padon; and several nieces and nephews.
She was also the mother of the late Angie C. Arieta, and the sister of the late John C. Amaral, Beatriz Pimentel and Antonio Amaral.
Her funeral will be held from the Silva Funeral Home, 80 Broadway, Taunton on Thursday, Aug. 14th at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at St. Andrew the Apostle Church at 10 a.m.
Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, Aug. 13th from 5 to 8 p.m.
