James W. Loper, 63, of Brookfield died Saturday, August 9, 2014, at Tift Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2014, in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with Rev. W. E. Fogarty officiating. Rex Roland, Jamie Mathis, Jeremy Peters, Allen Hoover, Darrell Bromlow, Mike Bromlow and James Edwards will serve as pallbearers. Mr. Loper will be laid to rest at Tift Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Loper was born on February 2, 1951 in Hialeah, Florida and was the son of Oliver G. Loper and Elise Burnum Loper, both deceased. He was employed at Tifton Aluminum Company for over 25 years and then worked at Cracker Barrel. He was a loving father and grandfather and was a member of Brookfield Baptist Church. He was an avid sports fan who enjoyed NASCAR, football and baseball.
Mr. Loper is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Nicholas and Melinda Loper of Ty Ty; one daughter, Sharon Loper Weldon of Brookfield; one brother and sister-in-law, Oliver and Margaret Loper of Tifton; and three grandchildren, Shyra Loper, Sammy Griner and Sierra Elexas.
