Doherty, Matthew Edward, 50, of Dedham, MA passed away on July 12, 2014 in Taipei, Taiwan. He leaves behind the loves of his life, wife Jeanne (Simski) Doherty and daughters Elizabeth and Caroline Doherty. Dear son of Margaret (Bruce) Doherty and the late George V. Doherty. Brother of George B. Doherty and his wife Jennifer of Concord, Joanne R. Doherty of Stuart, FL and Elizabeth A. Doherty of Portsmouth, NH; uncle to Ashley, Hannah & Emily Simski, and Kaitie, Ian & Robert Doherty.
Matthew graduated from Archbishop Williams High School and Northeastern University. He was an electrical engineer who had worked for Raytheon, Litton Industries and most recently for Communication and Power Industries in Beverly, MA as an engineering manager.
Matt surrounded himself with the people and things he loved; he enjoyed kayaking, skiing, camping, attending sporting events and preparing fabulous meals.
Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, August 12, 2014 at 11:00am, St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, 420 High Street, Dedham, MA, followed by a Celebration of Life at The Endicott Estate, 656 East Street, Dedham.
