Joseph J. Quinlivan, 60, of Worcester, died Thursday, August 7th at home, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his mother, Joan E. (Nugent) Quinlivan, three brothers, James P. Quinlivan, Jr. and Denise Sinkus of Worcester, Michael T. Quinlivan of Rutland and his companion, Heidi Johnston, and Brian R. Quinlivan and his wife Karen of Rutland; several nephews and nieces, a grand niece and aunts and uncles.
He was born in Worcester; his father was the late Deacon James P. Quinlivan, Sr. Joe was a graduate of Burncoat High School and was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam Era. He had worked as a letter carrier in Shrewsbury for the United States Post Office. His pastime activity included hunting and fishing and spending time at Bay View Campground in Bourne; and he was a member of the 200 Sportsman’s Club.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff members of Eaton Place Oncology, and VNA Hospice, for the wonderful care and support provided to Joe and his family during this most difficult time.
His funeral will be Tuesday, August 12th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, with a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery. Calling hours are Monday, August 11th from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. in the funeral home.
