Obituary

Julie Ann Olson, 36, of Holden died Tuesday August 5, 2014 after a long illness. She passed away peacefully with her family by her side at MA General Hospital.
Julie was born in Fitchburg on March 10, 1978. She was the daughter of Virginia Singer and the late Howard Singer. Raised in Winchendon, Julie graduated from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School with a concentration in drafting. She also attended classes at Mount Wachusett and Quinsigamond Community Colleges.
Julie’s greatest passion was her family. She was a loving and caring wife and excelled at being a mother. She loved crafting, especially sewing, quilting and embroidery. She had an affinity for animals. She recently started to ski again as her son was beginning to learn. It was to become the newest family activity. She loved to vacation with her family in Maine whenever the opportunity presented itself. All those who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her in life know what a compassionate and caring person Julie was.
Julie is survived by her loving husband Derek and what is undoubtedly her proudest accomplishment in life, her son Chase, of Holden. She is also survived by: her mother, Virginia Singer of Worcester; her sister, Jennifer Landry and her husband, Paul Jr. of Athol; her step-brother, Scott Singer and his wife, Kerrie of Oxford; nieces and nephews, Paul III and Brent Landry of Athol and Scott and Alyssa Singer of Oxford; and her extended family for the past fifteen years, father and mother in-laws, Edmund and Sheryl Olson, brother and sister in-laws, Kristopher and Amanda Olson, and grandmother in-laws, Lorraine Olson, and Alexandria Xenos all of Worcester. Julie was predeceased by many, many loved ones very close to her heart too numerous to name.
Funeral services and burial will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Angels Church Family Center, 1222 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01603. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester is directing arrangements.
