Charles Eugene Geiger, Jr.
Jan. 23, 1924 to Aug. 5, 2014


Charles Eugene Geiger, Jr., 90, of Anderson died at Community Northview Care Center after an extended illness.

He was born January 23, 1924 in Noblesville. He was a lifelong resident of Anderson. He loved camping, hunting, fishing and wildlife.

He served in WW II a Corporal in the United States Army, where, he was severely wounded with shrapnel and received the Purple Heart also 11 other medals of honor.

He retired in 1975 from Delco Remy with 33.5 years and had a 40 year music career, playing guitar and being a vocalist in his own band, The Two True Tones Combo, Eddie Howard Band, Larry Meechem Co. and the Delco Remy 12 Volts and the Starter Band.

Survivors include his three daughters, Lisa (Frank) Guthrie of Danville, IN; Toni (David) Van Zandt of Lakewood, OH; and Gloria Geiger of Anderson; four grandchildren, Ben Guthrie, Stephanie and Shelby Van Zandt and Nicole "Niki" Roudebush; two great grandchildren, Amira "Mira"; and Julean; sisters-in-law, Maribel Hodges and Jane Miller and a host of nieces & nephews and friends including his niece Janice Geiger was his faithful caregiver.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Eloise "Billie" (Breese) Geiger; his parents, Charles and Mamie Marie (Mantz) Geiger; sister Frances Davis two brothers, Darcy and Ivan Geiger.

Services will be noon Thursday, August 7, at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Kent Stookey officiating, burial will be East Maplewood Cemetery with military graveside rites by VFW Post 266 Honor Guard and the U.S. Army Honor Guard.

Visitation will be from 10 A.M. until the service at noon at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be given to American Lung Association.
