Belmont-----Teresa O. Kurkowski, 86, of 19 Witham Road, died at her home on Sunday, August 3, 2014.
Mrs. Kurkowski was born January 2, 1928 in Erie, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Stanley and Stephania (Jelatko) Olszewski.
Mrs. Kurkowski resided in Ansonia, Connecticut for forty-eight years before moving to Belmont ten years ago. She had been employed as an executive secretary for Southern New England Telephone Co. for several years.
Mrs. Kurkowski was a communicant of St. Joseph Parish in Belmont. She enjoyed gardening, canning vegetables, camping with family and friends, lunching with her lady friends at Great Brook Village, swimming aerobics at the Laconia Athletic Club and of course family gatherings with her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her son, James Frederick Kurkowski, and his partner, Susan Spaeth, of Half Moon Bay, Calif.; her two daughters, Stephanie Kurkowski Korb and her husband, Alan, of Belmont, N.H. and Roberta Kurkowksi Eldrid and her husband, Sacheveral, of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; four grandchildren, Joshua Makenzie Korb of Belmont, Cameron Pyret Korb of Belmont, N.H., Sacheveral R. Eldrid of Saratoga Springs, N.Y. and Emma T. Eldrid also of Saratoga Springs, N.Y.. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kurkowski was predeceased by her husband of forty-eight years, Frederick R. Kurkowski, her three sisters, Helen, Josie and Stella and a brother, Joseph.
There will be no calling hours.
A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2014 at 1:00PM at St. Michael’s Church, 75 Derby Avenue, Derby, Conn.
Burial will follow in the family lot in St. Michael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Silver Hill Road, Derby, Conn.
