Mrs. Shirley Ann (Foley) Foley, a longtime resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Walter R. Foley, died at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston on Saturday, August 2, 2014. She was 79 years old.
Born in Wakefield on February 28, 1935, she was a beloved daughter of the late James and Clara (Grenier) Foley. Mrs. Foley was a graduate of Wakefield High School, class of 1953 and had attended the Malden Business School in 1961 and the Hickox Secretarial School in Boston from 1968 to 1970. Shirley and her late husband, Walter, married on April 17, 1971 and had resided in Andover. Shirley worked as an Executive Secretary for Raytheon, for many years.
She was the loving mother of Brian M. Foley of Methuen, Robert W. and his wife Melissa Foley of Sugar Hill, Georgia, and Laura A. and her husband Andrew Socha of Westford, cherished grandmother of Natalie Socha and Brandon and Brianna Foley. She was also the sister of the late James, Phillip, Edgar, Alfred and Mary Lepore. She was also blessed to have shared 4 wonderful years with her boyfriend Fred Banzi of Andover and Sarasota, FL.
Her funeral will be celebrated in St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Friday, August 8, 2014, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend. Calling hours will be held in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover on Thursday, August 7, 2014, from 5 to 8 PM. Interment will be held in Spring Grove Cemetery in Andover.
