Shirley D. Fuller
of Tewksbury
TEWKSBURY: Shirley D. (Davenport) Fuller, age 79, a resident of Tewksbury for 48 years, passed away at the Winchester Hospital , with her family by her side, on Sunday, August 3, 2014.
She was the beloved wife of Edward C. Fuller, with whom she celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on July 7, 2014.
Born in Stoneham on July 18, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Dale Davenport and the late Grace (Chambers) Davenport.
Shirley was raised in Stoneham , attended Stoneham schools and graduated from Stoneham High School in 1953.
Following her marriage, she moved to Wilmington, where she lived until moving to Tewksbury in 1966.
Shirley dedicated her life to her husband, family and community.
She was an active member and volunteer for several area organizations including the Tewksbury Golden Age Club and Senior Drop-In-Center, where she enjoyed performing in talent shows and singing in the chorus. She volunteered her time with the Angels In Motion Organization of Wilmington, and was an active participant with the former Orbiteers Drum & Bugle Corps of Tewksbury. In addition, she was a member of the Tewksbury Red Hat Society, and in earlier years she was a Leader for the local Girl Scout and Cub Scout Organizations.
Shirley enjoyed reading, spending time at her summer home in Shelburne, NH and visiting her much loved grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Sandy J. Volak and her husband Mark of Huntersville, NC and Michael E. Fuller and his wife Pam of Danvers; seven grandchildren, Randy, Jay, Jeremy, Danielle, Ryan, Tim and Sean; five great grandchildren; one brother, William R. Davenport and his wife Terry of Shelburne, NH; also many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
Shirley was the sister of the late Betty Angelosanto.
Calling hours are Wednesday, Aug. 6, from 4-8 p.m.(G.A.C. Service at 4:30 p.m.) at the Farmer & Dee Funeral Home, 16 Lee St., Tewksbury. Her funeral will be held Thursday, Aug. 7, at 9:30 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by her Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Williams Church, 1351 Main St., Rte. 38, Tewksbury. Interment at Wildwood Cemetery, Wilmington. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Friends of the Elderly, 175 Chandler St., Tewksbury, MA 01876.
