Jennie (Pontes) Forgette, 92, of Westport, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2014 at Kindred Transitional Care & Rehabilitation-Highlander in Fall River. She was the wife of the late William Forgette and former wife of the late Edward J. O’Hara.
Born in Fall River, daughter of the late Antone and Mary (Ventura) Pontes, she had resided in Westport for most of her life. Prior to her retirement, she worked as a spinner for various mills in the area. Mrs. Forgette was a group leader on many trips to the casinos and various vacation destinations for Our Lady of Grace Church in Westport, President of the Our Lady of Grace Senior’s Club and Vice-President of the Our Lady of Grace Women’s Guild.
Survivors include her son: Edward J. O’Hara and his wife Evelyn of Westport; her grandson: Kevin O’Hara and his wife Jennifer; and 2 great grandchildren: Ariana and Logan.
Funeral to which relatives and friends are invited will be on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at 9:00 A.M. from the Potter Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Grace Church, Westport at 10:00 A.M.
Calling hours will be Monday from 5-7 P.M.
Interment will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Fall River.
