George Frazer, 80, of New Bedford, died peacefully on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at home surrounded by his family, following a long illness.
He is survived by his bride of 59 years, Jacqueline C. (Poisson) Frazer and his five children and their spouses, Nancy Frazer Evangelista and Fred Evangelista from Shrewsbury, Bruce Frazer and Robyn Carpenter from New Bedford, Kathleen Mullin and Robert Mullin from Clinton, Michael Frazer and Butch Sakellarion from Melrose, and Lynn Borella and Robert Borella from Worcester. George's grandchildren were the highlights of his life, Katelyn Frazer-Rego and Christopher Rego, Sara Frazer, Brandon Perry, Allison Mullin, Courtney Mullin, Jacqueline Borella, Alex Borella and Christopher Evangelista. He also had a great-granddaughter, Francine Rego. He enjoyed family gatherings and following all of the New England sports teams.
George was a lifetime member of St. Joseph's Church in New Bedford. George was born in Fall River, son of the late Alfred and Eva (Jeffries) Frazer. He was predeceased by his brothers, Alfred and Arthur and his sister, Marion Vermette. He is survived by his sister, Doris Milot, from Waterloo, Iowa, and several nieces and nephews.
George was a Corporal in the Marine Corps during the Korean War. He retired from DeBross Oil, as a salesman. He also worked for Hood Inc. for many years.
His Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday August 9, 2014 at 9 AM at St. Joseph-St. Therese Church. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours are omitted.
