Betty J. (Geer) Flagg, 89, passed away Friday, August 1, 2014 at the Overlook Masonic Healthcare Center.
She leaves her husband of 65 years, Mason B. Flagg, 2 daughters; Jane A. Flagg-Guilbert and her husband Jerry of Southbridge, and Susan E. Frederick and her husband Richard of Shrewsbury, one son, Mason G. Flagg and his wife Carol of Sutton, a sister, Mary Everleth of Worcester, 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Betty was born in Jacksonville, FLA. and raised in Worcester, the daughter of Harry W. and Ruth E. (Gray) Geer, graduated from Commerce High School, in 1943 and attended Clark University, then went to work at the Worcester Telegram & Gazette as the executive secretary to former Chief Editor Robert Steele for 11 years, and went on to co-oversee the former Peoples Church Nursing Homes with Rev. Kenneth Bath for 8 years.
