Martha C. Gratton, 83, of Manchester, NH, died Thursday July 31, 2014 in Villa Crest Healthcare in Manchester. She was born in Derry, NH on January 29, 1931, a daughter of the late James and Ethel (Larond) Watson, and had lived in Derry most of her life. Martha had been employed as a manager of the school lunch program in the Derry School System. Martha was well known for her favorite saying, “Taa Daa”.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, James Gratton of Manchester; one daughter, Susan Geary and her husband Bill of Londonderry, NH; four grandchildren, Jason Normandeau, Kristopher McQuarrie, Thomas Gorrie, and Jill Gorrie; two great grandchildren, Bridget Gorrie, and Dana Gorrie; and her son-in-law, Roy Normandeau. She was predeceased by her daughter Jayne Normandeau in 1996, and her sister Judith Gorrie in 2009.
A calling hour was held on Monday, August 4th from 9 – 10:00am in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. Funeral services followed at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry. The family would like to thank the staff of Villa Crest Healthcare for their love and support.
