Francis A. Foye, Jr., 90, of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Manchester, died July 23, 2014 after a period of declining health.
Born in Manchester on June 9, 1924, he was the son of Francis and Margaret (Callahan) Foye Sr. He was educated in the local school system and graduated from St. Joseph High School in 1942.
During WWII he served in the US Navy prior to his honorable discharge in 1945. He earned the Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 2 Bronze Stars and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with 1 Bronze Star.
He had been employed by New England Telephone for many years prior to his retirement.
He was a life member of the American Legion, Henry J. Sweeney Post #2, and the VFW.
Family members include his sons Bruce Foye and Sandy of Lake Whales, FL, Kevin Foye and wife Ginny of Hollis; daughters-in-law, Karen and Mary Foye; a son in-law, Roger Duclos; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, William Foye and wife Eleanor of Hooksett, Anthony Foye of Manchester, Edward Foye and wife Marlene of Hooksett, George Foye of Arizona, Catherine Mulroy and husband Lenny of Manchester; many nephews, nieces, and cousins.
He was predeceased by his wife Gloria (Bellerive) Foye, and two sons, Gary and Brian Foye. He was also predeceased by his first wife Eleanor (McGranaghan) Foye and daughter Denise A. Duclos.
A memorial Mass of Christian burial was celebrated on Saturday, August 9, 2014 in St. Pius X Church. Urn burial with military honors followed in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford.
