CHARLES EARL HIGDON, 82, passed away on July 28, 2014. He was a retired employee of Louisville Gas & Electric, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Leitchfield, KY., and an Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Higdon and his grandson, Christopher Farnsley. Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 years, Alberta (Shain) Higdon; his daughters, Debra Newsome (Jeff), Wanda McDougale (Jeff), Brenda Neville (Tracy), and Janice Hoban (Tom); grandchildren, Michelle, Cristy, Melissa, Angie, Leroy Jr., Mandi, Jesse, Brad, and Lesli; and 10 great grandchildren including Josh Capshaw, who was like a son to Charles. His funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Friday at St. Paul Catholic Church, 6901 Dixie Highway with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens West. Visitation will be from 12:00–8:00 p.m. Thursday and after 9 a.m. Friday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway.
