Manuel Furtado DeOliveira, age 77 of Fall River, passed away on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. Born in Livramento, São Miguel, Açores, he was the beloved husband of Maria D. (Martins) Oliveira and the son of the late Antonio F. and Maria doGloria (deJesus)Oliveira. Prior to retiring, Manuel worked for Quaker Fabric as a Machine Operator, and was a parishioner of St. Michael Church.
In addition to his wife of Fall River, he is survived by his children: Gil Oliveira of New Hampshire, Alvaro Oliveira, Ricardo Oliveira, Pedro Oliveira, & Rui Oliveira all of Fall River, Graca Oliveira of Georgia, Ava Diogo of Swansea, Fernanda Oliveira, João Oliveira, Paulo Jorge Oliveira, & Victor Oliveira all of São Miguel, Acores, and the late Manuel E. Oliveira; siblings: Margarida Vertentes of Fall River and the late Alvaro DeOliveira; 35 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces & nephews.
His funeral will take place from the MANUEL ROGERS & SONS FUNERAL HOME, INC. 1521 N. Main Street, Fall River on FRIDAY, August 1, 2014 here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Michael's Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick's Cemetery, Fall River. Calling hours on THURSDAY 6-8 P.M.
