MEREDITH – George W. McNutt, 91, of Meredith, formerly of Kings Lake Blvd., Naples, Florida, died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon after a brief illness.
He was born on May 22, 1923 in Truro, Nova Scotia, the son of Mort and Kathleen (Martin) McNutt. George served in the US Army during World War II. He was the owner and operator of McNutt Brothers Garage in Somerville, Mass. for a number of years. George was a member of the Ancient and Honorable Artillery Company of Massachusetts, a life member of VFW Post #11489 in Meredith and a Master Mason.
He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Laurie (Russell) McNutt of Meredith, his step-son, Brian Russell of Manchester, his step-daughter, Shari O’Donnell of Carver, Mass., his two brothers; Donald and Fred McNutt, both of Mass., one sister, Ruth Fitzgerald of Mass and six step-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and siblings.
There will be no calling hours.
A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1PM on Thursday, August 28, 2014 in the chapel at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery, Boscawen.
