Joy M. Larson (1923-2014)
Born January 11, 1923, Joy Steckler was a descendant of the culture and traditions of New Orleans, Louisiana. Educated by nuns, she wrote for her 60th year reunion from Ursuline Academy, "The Sisters gave me the tools to lead a happy and useful life." She attended Newcomb College for 3 years.
In 1945 she became Mrs. Donald A. Larson of the Yakima Valley. Bridge and the people she played with became her new life.
In her 60 year reflection she credits Sr. Francis Joseph of the Providence Order for the adoption of "our wonderful daughters".
Great Grandma Joy passed peacefully in true "Southern Style", before noon, on July 22, 2014. She will be missed but not forgotten!
