Everett Ray Hensley
January 10, 1943- July 27, 2014

Everett Ray Hensley, 71, of Anderson, died Sunday, July 27, 2014 at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital following an extended illness.

He was born on January 10, 1943 in Arkansas, the son of Loyell and Eunice (Healey) Hensley. He moved to Anderson in 1947 lived most of his life in Anderson, graduating from Anderson High School. He was employed by Delphi/General Motors for 36 years. He was a member of UAW 662. He played and coached many ball teams throughout his life. He served as president of the senior softball league in Lake Placid, Florida. He coached the Erskine Little League and Meadowbrook Girls Softball teams for several years, as well as the YMCA Kids Basketball and Star Merchant State Champs Softball team in 1987. He loved fishing and enjoyed baking cookies with his grandchildren, and Elvis.


Survivors include his wife, Diana (Harney) Hensley, whom he married on December 7, 1963;
3 children: Jerry (wife Kay) Hensley of Greenwood, Sherry (Brent) Clark of Ft. Wayne, and Gary Hensley of Anderson; six grandchildren: Brittney (Derek) Pratt of Anderson, Bryce Idlewine of Anderson, Jeremy Hensley, Jacob Hensley, Jerrica Hensley all of Frankton; Aubrey Jackson and great grandchild, Kaden Pratt; five step grandchildren: Brooke, Bethany, Eli, Erica Christy and Brent Johnson all of Greenwood; brother, Jim (wife Judy) Hensley of Anderson and several nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins; three sisters- in- law: Dean Hensley of Lake Placid, Fl; Judy York Hensley of Anderson; and Lula Culley of Anderson; special family and friends; Marsha Hensely, Rhonda Stephens, Debbie Stephens and the Foley Family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Loyell and Eunice Hensley, three brothers, Dale Hensley, Bob Hensley, and Carl Hensley, and a great granddaughter, Kennedi Pratt "our little angel".

Services will be held at Rozelle Johnson Funeral Service on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 7:00 PM with Pastor Carroll Cullipher of 38th Street Freewill Baptist Church officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm prior to the funeral service.

Memorial contributions may be given to Fresenius, the Dialysis Center at St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital, 1815 Jackson Street, Anderson, IN 46016.
