Ashland-Yvonne Ourila (Durette) Good, 93, of 12 Brunt Avenue died Saturday morning, July 26, 2014 at her home after a courageous struggle with cancer with her son at her side.
Yvonne was born in Gilford on December 16, 1920 the daughter of the late Lorenzo and Josephine (Marchand) Durette. She graduated in 1944 from the Augustine School for the Deaf in Brattleboro, Vermont.
She had been employed as a seamstress for most of her life lastly working at Plymouth Stitching in Ashland from 1981 to 2004. As an accomplished seamstress one of her joys was to make animals and toys. She had a love for cats and nature.
Beside her parents Yvonne was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Howard S. Good in 2007; her brothers, Joseph, Michael, Wilfred, Homer, Oliva, George, Irving, and Normand Durette; her sisters, Aura Landry, Marguerite Clavett, and Leona Deware; her sister-in-laws, Ismay Greemore Durette, and Clara Drake Durette; her brother-in-laws, Arthur Landry, Walter Clavett, and Robert Deware; her great-nephews, Ronnie Durette, Ronald Hurst, and Alexander Rowson.
Yvonne is survived by her son, Richard Plourde of Ashland; her nieces, Patricia Manley of Laconia, Lynn Rowson of Gilford, Catherine Corriveau of Belmont, Beverly Hueber of Portsmouth, Norma Boughton of Gilmanton, Barbara Fournier of NY, Nancy Harrington, and Linda Durette both of SC; her nephews, Walter Clavett of Laconia, Jim, Bill, and Tom Deware all of Belmont, Arthur Durette of Columbia, NH, Tom Durette of SC, and Ray Durette of CT. Many great nieces and nephews also survive Yvonne.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at 11:00am at the family lot in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia.
