Born in Hartford, CT, Anne was raised in Glastonbury, CT, where she attended local schools and graduated from Glastonbury High School. She attended Middlebury College in Vermont for two years before moving on to the University of Connecticut where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Horticulture. In the years following college, Anne lived in Vermont, Texas and Massachusetts where she pursued career interests in the garden design, nursery operations, alpine skiing, hospitality, and accounting professions. She was a life-long outdoor enthusiast and especially enjoyed skiing, cycling, sailing, and hiking. She was a gifted watercolor painter, potter, and cook. Anne will be remembered by all for her love of animals; Dolly, her Pembroke Welsh Corgi and cat Ruby were both very dear and loyal companions.
Anne’s unique joie de vivre and enthusiasm will be greatly missed by those she leaves behind: Her mother, Anita S. Tiemann, her brother Peter N. Tiemann and his wife, Peggy Tiemann, her brother David L. Tiemann and his wife Renee Freier, a sister, Betsy Tiemann Semonite and her husband, Ned Semonite, her two nieces Margot Semonite and Sydney Tiemann and two nephews Stuart Semonite and Blake Tiemann. She was predeceased by her father, Hermann Newell Tiemann III.
A Funeral Mass will be held to celebrate Anne’s life in St. Joseph’s Church, Union Square, Somerville on Friday, August 1st at 11:00am.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend.
