Robert Arthur Grover Sr., 87, of Bellingham died Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. He was the beloved husband of Miriam Arlene (Willock) Grover who died in 2007.
Born in Boston on November 11, 1926, he was the son of the late Harold L. and Josephine (Solberg) Grover.
Bob was a resident of Bellingham since 1964. He proudly served in the Merchant Marines during WWII.
Before his retirement in 1988, he worked for the Commonwealth of Mass. MDC Water Works in Chestnut Hill.
Bob was an avid Red Sox fan and enjoyed playing cards, gardening and reading.
He is survived by a son Robert A. Grover Jr. and his wife Barbara of Mendon, a daughter Susan Banner and her husband Tony of Uxbridge, a granddaughter Kelley Anne Bujold and her husband Brian and a great granddaughter Genevieve.
He is also survived by a sister Gladys Kiley of Framingham and many nieces and nephews.
He was the brother of the late Edward, Frederick, Herbert and Harold Grover.
Bob’s family would like to acknowledge two compassionate caregivers, Ann Marie Metz and Jackie Connolly for the compassionate services and care that they provided to Bob as well as the wonderful administrative staff and caregivers at Right At Home in Westborough.
Funeral services will be private at the request of his family. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery in Medway.
